Giving Back

Find some ways to give back to your local community

Supporting local Charities and Food Banks

With the ongoing pandemic leaving many small businesses on their knees, and thousands of people without work, along with the fast approach of winter and Christmas, you may be feeling the need to give back to your community stronger than ever before.   With many physical charity shops closed and overrun with donations from clear-outs during our first lockdown, it can be hard to know where to start. We have put together some information and useful links relevant to your part of the world on the app, to make it a little easier, should you want to look further at giving some support. Food banks always have a need, with more families relying on them this year, and Harrow Food Bank regularly update their website with items needed, and those they have plenty of, and they are taking donations below. Harrow Foodbank Centre,

You can donate good condition clothes, shoes and accessories via mail using Thrift+, an online second-hand shop.  Thrift will send you a free bag to fill, and will either collect it with DHL for £3.50 (if your items are designer this service is free) or you can send your bag back for free using Collect+ from any of these locations.  You can choose from 8,000 charities to support, and where the money goes when your items sell.  There is more information on their website, or you download the Thrift+ app.

You can also make a one-off donation to Shelter this winter to contribute towards their work helping those struggling with bad housing and homelessness.
