ABOUT US

Square Mile Farms make urban farming a lifestyle.

We bring vertical farming to urban spaces and communities, just like yours at The Hub. Our Farms provide ultra-fresh, sustainable produce and a platform for you and your family to learn about growing your own food, sustainability, nutrition and wellbeing.

Look out for our friendly team of urban farmers when we’re at The Hub to harvest for you.

YOUR FARM

What is it?Your Farm is made up of an innovative, vertical Farm Wall in the residents’ lounge area, as well as two Farmstands found in the lift lobbies

These clever systems use hydroponics (growing without soil) to grow indoors, all year round. Together, they're growing 188 plants including ultra-fresh herbs and leafy greens for you.

What's growing?
Your Farm is currently growing:
  • Kale
  • Basil
  • Purple Basil
  • Rainbow Chard
  • Parsley
  • Coriander
What's involved? Free, fresh veg for you!

What we’ll do:
  • We’ll make sure the Farm is healthy and thriving with vegetables and herbs.
  • We’ll be at The Hub every other Monday from 3-4pm to harvest the veg for you.
  • Please don’t harvest without us, this helps to keep you and the plants safe!
 What you’ll do:
  • You can collect freshly harvested produce from our Head Grower: keep an eye out on the app for reminders on when he will be at The Hub.
  • We’d also love for you to get involved! Join us to learn how to harvest, help plant new seedlings and how to grow at home.
  • You can also let us know what you’d like to grow next.
What's the benefit for you? Apart from eating the freshest food in London? Growing food vertically and locally uses less transport miles, less water, less space - and it's better for you!

Plus, getting closer to your food and being involved in the growing process has proven mental health benefits. Especially when you acquire the know-how to grow at home too!
